Scott Glazier represents business entities of all sizes ranging from start-up companies and small businesses to multi-million dollar companies doing business on a national and international basis. Scott advises and counsels clients on a wide variety of legal matters, including choice of entity and entity formations, general corporate and contract matters, loan financing, asset, stock purchases and sales, mergers, employee benefit and incentive plans, federal and state taxation, healthcare law, and real estate matters. He also advises individuals on business succession, estate planning, and probate law. Scott’s practice philosophy is to be both legal counsel and a business adviser. His approach to most legal issues is first to consider the risks and rewards to the client from a possible course of action, next to evaluate the issue from an economic standpoint and finally to attack the problem or issue from a technical viewpoint applying applicable legal principles and his years of experience. Scott’s goal is to communicate with clients using clear and understandable terms without attempting to impress the client with “legalese” or obscure legal references.

Scott began his legal career as an associate in the Corporate and Tax Department of Brant, Moore, Sapp, Macdonald and Wells, P.A. in 1985, and became a partner in 1991. During his fourteen years with that firm, Scott helped the practice grow from seven lawyers to over twenty lawyers while also serving as the firm’s managing partner for four years. Scott credits the mentorship of the senior partners in that firm with his understanding of both legal issues or also client relations. In late 1999, recognizing an entrepreneurial opportunity, Scott and his wife, Cynthia Glazier, combined their practices to form Glazier & Glazier, P.A. which became Glazier, Glazier & Dietrich, P.A. in 2020.

Scott is proud that the Firm is a family-owned-and-operated business like so many of its clients. Scott and his wife, Cynthia (who he met in law school), practiced together for over 14 years until Cynthia retired from her Family Law practice. In 2014, their son, Andrew, joined the Firm. The Firm’s other partner, Viv Dietrich, first joined the Firm in 2000 as a Law Clerk and then later served as an Associate Attorney until 2005 when her husband’s military commitment took them to Virginia. However, Viv returned “home” to the Firm in 2017 and became a partner along with Andrew in January of 2020.

Scott has another son, Nicholas, who is married and works as a Manager at a Disney resort hotel having worked his way up from cleaning bathrooms and emptying trash in the Magic Kingdom. Scott’s other “children” are his beloved dogs, Mojo, a Border Collie, Ella, a Papillion, and Cappy, a very cute Norfolk Terrier. When you enter our offices, you may even be lucky enough to be greeted by one of these friendly characters. Mojo and Ella have multiple AKC titles in Agility and Mojo is a certified pet therapy animal having served at Baptist Beaches Hospital.

Outside of work, golf is Scott’s passion and he is proud of his single-digit handicap. Scott and Cyndy also enjoy travel (especially cruises), dining out with friends, ballroom dancing and the beach.
